I’ve been working as a freelance copywriter since 2012. In that time I’ve written the copy for the new website of a luxury goods company undergoing an important brand overhaul; I’ve put together catalogue descriptions for online and mail-order shops all over the world; I’ve ghostwritten SEO, marketing and advertising blogs; I’ve done hours of audio transcriptions and I’ve sold hundreds of articles on an eclectic collection of topics. At some point, I’ve probably written just about everything. Currently, I’m working through Textbroker, Writer’s Domain, Elance and People Per Hour - as well as maintaining a position as one of the staff writers for a pair of online arts, culture and lifestyle magazines.

Brand storytelling for a luxury leather goods company in the middle of a full brand overhaul. The brief was to tell the story of the house - its founding, its craftsmanship and the values it wanted to carry into a new generation - without tipping over into the usual heritage cliches. The finished piece ran as long-form copy across the new website and formed the basis for the brand's catalogue introductions.

A plain-English roundup of Android apps for controlling a computer from your phone, written for a consumer technology blog. Each app is tested and compared on setup, speed, security and price, with a short verdict on who it suits best - from someone who just wants to grab a file from their home PC to small businesses supporting staff remotely.
